Well Socialised

All of our kittens are super well bred and uber socialised. They are raised "underfoot" and never caged and have the most fantastic temperaments. They are part of our every day life, as they will be of yours. We are always sad to see them leave, but we can be confident that we choose the best possible home.

Peace of Mind

All kittens come with everything needed and a lifetime of advice. They will be fully vaccinated, with a rabies vaccine, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, neutered or spayed. The only thing you will need to do is be seen by a vet within 7 days, then nothing for one year. They are raised 100% on a raw diet of rabbit and turkey and nothing else and fed 5-6 times per day. Completely spoiled, of course!

Hey, I’m Steven.

Cats are my life and anything I don’t know about these two wonderful breeds, quite frankly isn’t worth knowing! I am a Licensed Allbreed cat judge with LCWW Group and have been breeding and showing for over 30 years. I am super involved in all aspects of the cat world and founded Loving Cats Worldwide to display the cat fancy across the globe. My partner Thiago and I live between Portugal (in a beautiful Quinta) and Tampa, Florida. For further clarification on my credentials and background, please feel free to google me and check out the LCWW Group website.

Scottish Kittens.

The Scottish originated in the 1960's on a farm in Scotland. All Scottish can trace their lineage back to one cat, Susie. They are a very popular breed and come with folded ears or straight ears, shorthair or longhair and in many colours and patterns. They have been bred poorly for many years, which has caused the breed to be very controversial and have even been banned by some associations and countries. When getting a Scottish Kitten from me or anyone, make sure that both parents can be seen. One of the two parents MUST have straight ears and one parent should either be British, American or Scottish with Straight Ears. Be very wary if the entire litter is "folded". The odds are about 50/50 and sometimes MUCH less.

If the litter is a result of a fold to fold mating, all kittens will be folded and they WILL have major medical issues at a very young age. Unfortunately, this is common practice for unethical breeders, as the folded kittens are more highly sought after. The gene that causes the ears to fold is dangerous if "doubled up" and it will cause osteochondrodysplasia very early on. This is a disease that affects the cartilage and bone, and will cause excruciating pain, and in severe cases, death. This is a really hard breed that can have many physical problems if not bred properly. This breed is very "in fashion", but you owe it to yourself and the kitten to do your research.

The American Shorthair is a pedigree breed originating in the USA. They are rumoured to have been brought over with the first settlers from the UK to the USA, so are a descendant of the British Shorthair. They are one of the most hearty and healthy breeds with the most wonderful temperaments of any cat breed. The American only come in shorthair and the most popular colours are silvers. The coat is short and dense and water resistant, to an extent. They are super strong, well built and powerful. For all the reasons above is why we also use the Americans in our Scottish. Please remember, that American to American is a pedigree American. American to Scottish is a pedigree Scottish.

Do Your Research.

Registration.

Our Scottish and Americans are registered with Loving Cats Worldwide (LCWW Group). All ethical breeders will also be active in the show world, so they can understand and keep up with producing the best they can in the breed. Please always buy from a reputable and well known breeder. The reason that Scottish have so many legal issues and a bad reputation is that they are highly sought after and bred without care or knowledge.

How Soon Can I Get My Kitten?

We do not breed for volume, we breed for health and the betterment of the breeds. There will never be a time where we will have a kitten available immediately. All kittens are matched with new owners from the age of 4 weeks. We do have an active waiting list. Also, NO KITTENS SHOULD EVER LEAVE TO THEIR NEW HOMES BEFORE 13 WEEKS....MINIMUM. They must be held at least 1 week AFTER the second vaccination which is given no earlier than 12 weeks. If a kitten is coming from abroad, the earliest will be 15 weeks, as they need 21 days after the rabies vaccination which is given no earlier than 12 weeks, as well. Please be weary of anyone saying otherwise. Kittens are EXPENSIVE to raise and they eat a lot. So some "breeders" try to say it's ok at 8 weeks. At 8 weeks they would have only had one vaccination (maybe) and that is NOT ok.
